In this article the author proposes his based on fact conception of information view on content, subject and objectives of mathematics as a science. Some aspects of this approach and its application to teaching mathematics
to both students and pupils are being discussed. It is also mentioned that the considered topic has been developed
during the author ’s work on his own theory of problem solving, which was initiated by his acquaintance with TRIZ in
1989.
